EUC Rider

Lean Too Much

An electric unicycle arcade runner. Lean forward to go faster, lean too much and the tarmac gets you. Dodge traffic, pedestrians and pigeons, and watch the PWM - the wheel gives out long before your nerve does.

The browser version needs nothing installed, though the first load pulls about 27 MB. The Android build is downloaded once - after that it checks for new versions on its own and offers to install them.

What you are riding

Three wheels

Simple Wheel is a nimble 16" starter. Street Runner trades some agility for speed. Speed Demon is fast, heavy and very willing to throw you off.

Four modes

Endless for the high score, Time Trial against the clock, and Hardcore - plus a night version of it, if the daylight was making things too easy.

It fights back

Battery drains, PWM climbs as you push, and the wheel beeps at you before it cuts out. Ignore it and the ragdoll physics take over from there.

Sound of the motor

A synthesised motor voice that tracks speed and load, with selectable AVAS modes - quiet electric, motorcycle, or a V8 that has no business being here.

Controls

Keyboard

  • W / ↑ Lean forward - accelerate
  • S / ↓ Lean back - brake
  • A D / ← → Lean into the turn
  • Shift Lean harder - and closer to the edge
  • Space Start from the menu
  • Esc Pause
  • Click Change the camera

Phone

Tilt the phone to steer, the way you would lean on the real thing - allow motion access when the browser asks. If the sensor is unavailable, drag anywhere on the screen instead: up to accelerate, sideways to turn.
